When I was taking pictures I didn't really think about using the Rule Of Thirds. However I think image two does apply the rule. Also with image #3 the ground is emphasized because the harsh green suddenly turns to a bright white.
I feel like image #1 has unity and movement. The building all standing together bring a sort of balance to the image. Theres is also the people walking on the sidewalks and walk ways which suggests movement.
For image #1; it was taken around 11:45pm saturday night on Las Vegas, Nevada. While it was dark outside the lights from the screens and stores made it possible to take the picture. The last two images were taken around 8:00am monday morning. It was snowy/rainy/overcast which made the lighting really beautiful and not to bright, so there wasn't any glare.
In image #1 there were people, bridges, stores and signs in the foreground, which look exciting and fun. The hotel building in the background make a nice backdrop for the image. The buildings are slightly dark compared to the foreground part of the image, this makes a nice contrast.
The camera I used to take these pictures was my iPhone camera.
"Edge Burn"
Changing images to black and white
Channel mixer
Lab color
Gradient map
Desaturation
I think Channel mixer and Lab color gave me the best results. In the end all methods do the same thing. However there is slight differences in shade that I got from using each method. This just could be because of me, though.
